A Tradition in the Making

Hosted a second time around, An Evening for Happy Child was as successful this year as last year. Björn Wetterling kindly let us borrow Wetterling Gallery and warmth filled the gallery as we welcomed dear friends, who all share a deep commitment to the children at Barnhem Muang Mai.

This year it fell on Sussi and Hans to speak about Barnhem, the children, and the work on site. They were assisted by three of their fantastic volunteers who have been involvedworking with the children at the home – Sophie, Anna and Ulla. Serving as moderator during the evening, Marianne Rundström, from the Swedish TV show Good morning, Sweden, also played a supporting role during this presentation.

Just like last year, guests at An Evening for Happy Child were treated to some lovely singing by three song birds– Julia Koponen, Natalie Bergqvist, and Elin Rosén Wetterholm.

And while we were treated to the song numbers we were also treated to various delicacies and good wine donated by Kent Jansen at Delikatessgrossisten, www.delikatessgrossisten.se

The raffle was also a hit, thanks to all of the wonderful gifts that had been donated.
And this year, just like the first initial year of this event, the fabulous first prize was an airline ticket to Phuket, for a visit to Barnhem Muang Mai. Many thanks to everyone who donated prizes and to everyone who bought raffle tickets.

We think you get the picture: The evening of November 11 was everything we had hoped for, and then some.

Our heartfelt thanks to all of you who found the time to attend. As a group you contributed not only to the wonderful atmosphere, but also by raising SEK 42,000 ($6,000) through the sale of tickets at the door and raffle tickets.

We are also greatly indebted to Wetterling Gallery, Kent Jansen, Delikatessgrossisten, Marianne Rundström, Julia Koponen, Nathalie Bergqvist, Elin Rosén Wetterholm, Sophie Hamrin, Anna Karlsson, Ulla Anlander, Jonas Franke, Dennis Eriksson, Emelie Benson, Dansmuseet, Fredells, Fritidsresor Sverige AB, Granit, Katti Kjellvertz, Starkat, Lasse Berghagen, Lasse Samuelsson, Lifeline, Lotta Wetterholm Friskvård, Nikon, Nils-Olof Olsson, Kneissel Sverige AB, Pocketshop, Ringside Event, Scalateatern.
