Become inspired by the efforts of those who have already played a significant role in the lives of our children.
Their support, compassion and commitment have driven us forward. We are extremely grateful to have met
so many creative and kind people. Let their stories encourage your own passion and drive to make
a positive impact as well.
We welcome all creative ideas and suggestions for fundraising initiatives. Your input is invaluable and together
we can explore new ways to create support for the children. If you have any thoughts or strategies in mind, please contact us.

The idea was brought to life when Emil repainted the walls at Kjelle’s - in other words, when two kind souls met. Emil who loves to paint, Kjelle who has lots of great contacts, and both with a passion for helping others.
It started with two portraits of Kjelle himself and then it took off.
The money they receive divides 50% to Happy Child and 50% to Walking Pool for Life.
As of 31 December 2018 they have raised SEK 300,900.
Poker Racing for Charity is an initiative by the driver and co-founder of PWR Racing, Peter "Poker" Wallenberg. In his STCC initiative, Poker has chosen to highlight and expose five different non-profit organisations both on his STCC car and on-site during the races. One of these non-profit organisations is Happy Child. In the monter for Poker Racing for Charity, the rest of the family at Malmvik - Klara, Vera, Douglas and Agnes-Amalia - are responsible for the sale of a number of products where all profit goes to the five non-profit organisations. Poker Racing for Charity has up until now raised SEK 105,000!
We are lucky to have so many friends who care about our children and several of these friends have chosen to start fundraisers on their birthdays.
Thank you, Calle Wollgård, Susanne Karlfeldt, Jenny Andersson, Maria Norberg, Yvonne Bäcker, Lasse Tenerz, Hans Forssell, Felicia Falk, Susanne Janson, Ingrid Leffler, Henrik Rödjegård, Susanne Falk, Magnus Falk and Johan Schönborg - together you have managed to raise SEK 499,050
(If you're wondering how they've done their fundraising, they have done it on Facebook - some have used Facebook's fundraising tool and some have just asked their friends to transfer money.)
Titan Fitness Camp was started by Kim Lindholm in 2013 and is today one of Phuket's largest and most popular gyms, if you are planning a training trip to Phuket you will find them in Chalong.
We got in touch with Kim via Martin Dahlman from Drivkraft who told Kim about us when he was in Phuket and trained at Titan Fitness.
Since 2018, Titan Fitness has helped us by charing information about us and through their fundraising box.
They have so far managed to raise 46,000 THB, which is about SEK 13,800.
Many thanks!
Drivkraft Solna with owner Martin Dahlman at the forefront, and his lovely staff offered a really sweaty and wonderful evening in favor of Happy Child on 7/2!
As Martin wanted to launch two new group workouts at the gym, he thought we would take the opportunity to raise money for Happy Child at the same time, which we obviously thought was a fantastic idea.
The plan was that you could donate any amount to Happy Child to join the classes and if you donated 200 SEK or more, you got a t-shirt from Happy Child. After 90 sweaty minutes everyone was rewarded with some snacks and drinks and we were able to conclude that the evening raised SEK 8,100 for Happy Child - absolutely fantastic!
Big thanks to Martin and Drivkraft and ALL who were there and trained, for a really lovely evening with lots of laughter and sweat and not least the nice, nice contribution to Happy Child.
In August 2019, Susanne came to Happy Child Home for four months of volunteering.
And not only has she been an absolutely fantastic volunteer - she very soon set up a fundraiser with her sister Jessica, from Falun in Sweden to California in the USA. These two wonderful women have so far managed to raise about SEK 40,000 via Swish in Sweden and GofundMe in the USA.
We hope Susanne can come back to Happy Child Home again soon and that we get the benefit of meeting Jessica as soon as possible.
We are convinced that Vasaloppet is a tough challenge and a real achievement for those who choose to expose themselves to this challenge, but we dare say that the cross-country skiing Johan and Thomas chose to expose themselves to, to raise money for Happy Child was a even greater achievement. Because of the snowfall, they had to trace themselves for the first 60 kilometers. Those who followed them know that they started at the same time as the Vasaloppet at 08.00 and that they were forced to break when it got dark ten hours forty minutes and 76 km later. Johan and Thomas are proved themselves and they really should be! We are deeply impressed and extremely grateful for what they did for us.
We would also like to thank all of you who accepted the challenge and helped Johan and Thomas to cope with the race. Thanks to you they were able to fight and thanks to you it was worth the effort as their alternative Vasalopp raised about SEK 56,000! Significantly much more than any of us had dared to hope for.
T H W T was a follow-up to previous projects by Calle Wollgård for the benefit of Happy Child - the third in the scheme. This time he bicycled around the world together with Eva Eriksson and Lovisa Håkansson.
They started their journey Saturday at Happy Child Home Saturday 1st October 2016. And they reached their goal - Happy Child Home, Saturday 25th November 2017, after they had passed 27 countries, four continents and cycled over 3,000 miles.
In addition to raise funds for Happy Child, they wanted to show that our planet is a great place and that its inhabitants are good people. They succeeded with both - The Happy World Tour managed to raise about SEK 500,000 and only met nice helpful people on their bicycling adventure around the world.
The children at GIII in Bromma traditionally have an Easter bazaar every year. Their friends Moa and Clara and their father Imre disappeared in the tsunami and since then these fantastic children have chosen to donate the money to Happy Child and our children, in memory of their friends.
We want to pay tribute to and thank these lovely children because they so diligently care for the memory of their friends and because they choose to help our children year after year. Their Easter bazaars have so far raised SEK 113,444.
Her four months at Happy Child Home led to her being a part of the family, even after leaving.
We let Susanne tell us more about the book herself: "In the fall of 2015, I was volunteering at Happy Child Home for four months. These four months do not get out of the body because they are one of the most amazing I've experienced. Now I want to share my wonderful time with the children and the people of Muang Mai, while continuing to help Happy Child Home. I do so by selling my diaries from my time at Happy Child Home. It's a personal story that I hope can inspire and entertain. Who knows, you might be inspired to do the same. "
The book costs SEK 170 - SEK 70 goes to cover the printing costs and the remaining SEK 100 goes on to the children.
As of 31 December 2018 the book has raised SEK 13,000.
Johanna Larsson, for most people known as the best tennis player in Sweden, has supported Happy Child for several years donating money for every serve ace she makes. Starting in 2016, Johanna organises a charity golf tournament during the tennis week in Båstad to raise money for Happy Child.
In 2016 the golf tournament was held at Äppelgårdens GK and raised SEK 24,550 and 2017 it was held at Bjäre GK and raised SEK 90,645.
A couple of years ago we got to know Barrie Buck when he was looking for a worthy cause for his company to help as part of their CSR. He came to visit us and he liked our “home”, our children and our way of doing things, but he also noted the poor condition of the buildings and grounds.
Barrie got in touch with his friend John Grendon and asked him to do a survey of our home and he confirmed that there were a large number of defects that needed to be dealt with and that a complete renovation was urgently needed. At the same time an expansion allowing capacity for more children was desired by the Barnhem board. The renewed Barnhem facility was planned and drawn up by a local architect. The plan called for improvements of the use of the facility, improved infrastructure and improved safety.
These two wonderful gentlemen decided to actually do it, rebuild Barnhem, in order to do so they started the Barnhem Refurbishment Project. Their idea was to get various funds, companies and people involved to get the sponsorship’s and resources needed to fulfill their vision of giving our children a better and safer home.
Here we are! They made it!…And we got a sports center as a bonus!!
And it was made possible thanks to the support of: Alba Care Foundation, Paresa Resort Phuket, The Sam and Ruby Charity, Lars och Helena Tenerz, Odd Fellow, Tommy Gustafsson, Peter Wallenberg, Accor Hotels, Eka Soundz, Lert Construction & Design Co, Ltd, Twinpalms Phuket, Prasop Sattaman, Amata Associates, Khun Joe, The Siam Guardian Services, Tropical Landscaping International
2014 Calle Wollgård, along with Christopher Johansson, Tomi Blumen and Fredrik Jessen cycled from Sweden to Phuket in Thailand.
A journey spanning 18 countries and 16,000 km. Their objective was the same as Happy Walk – to raise funds for Happy Child.
Happy Tour managed to raise SEK 375,635.
The first Music for Life charity concert took place on 3 March 2011.
The concert was organized as a project by Julia Koponen, who was in her final year studying music and production at college in Skara.
At Happy Child we have nothing but the highest admiration for Julia's fantastic work.
On stage, she had assembled 16 talented young people and a fantastic children's choir of 12 children who gave the sold-out audience at Skövde City Theatre wonderful musical entertainment for several hours. This concert raised SEK 42,643 for Happy Child.
And then Julia and her friends went and did it all again on 24 March 2012. The second concert raised SEK 42,554 to Happy Child.
These amazing young people, in other words danced and sung together the fantastic sum of SEK 85,197.
Happy Walk was started by a great group of friends consisting of Calle Wollgård, Christoffer Collin, Evelina Bodin, Sofia Hagström and Sofie Book. This lovely bunch decided to walk from Bangkok to Phuket for the benefit of Happy Child Home. The idea was that anyone who wanted to could give any amount per km walked by the friends. They managed to get all the way and raised a total of SEK 194,559.
We have our own meetings and fundraising events at irregular intervals. Where it is just as important for us to meet all of you who support us as it is to raise money through lotteries and ticket prices.
