If you are interested in giving one of our children the opportunity to higher education as a sponsor, you can contact Susanne Janson at susannejanson63@gmail.com
This applies to you as a sponsor:
Your commitment must apply to the entire program and for all years that the program requires.
As a sponsor you decide how much you can contribute.
You decide whether you want to pay monthly, per semester or per year. You can also pay the entire sum at once.
The money is either paid to our Foundation for Further Education - Ringar på Vattnet - or directly to Happy Child Home and the money is earmarked for the student you choose to support.
Happy Child Home is responsible for the money used correctly and you will receive financial reports with copies of all receipts monthly.
The student receives a certain amount of money for food each month that will not be reported with receipts.
The student must pass all their exams in order for the scholarship to continue from one year to the next.
We will start a closed Facebook group for the student and his/her sponsors for direct contact so you can follow him/her at the university.
In addition to sponsors and the student, Susanne Janson, Hans Forssell and Yaninee (Wow) will also be part of the group.
Gun came to us when he was 5 years old, together with his older sister Fon and his little sister Bai-Tuy.
His older sister Fon has just completed her nursing studies and has begun her professional life as a nurse at Vashira Hospital in Phuket.
And now it's little brother Gun’s turn to pursue his dream of higher education.
Gun is highly artistic, an excellent cook, and a great listener who loves helping his friends.
In other words, he is multi-talented, and because of that, he will apply to three different fields at several universities. He plans to apply for programs in:
Nutrition, Dietetics, and Food Science
Digital Filmmaking, Digital Design and Animation, Product Design
Psychology
We are confident that whichever path he ultimately chooses will be the right one for him — and that he will do his best and give it his all.
In order for Gun to be able to fulfill his dream of higher education, we now need to find sponsors for his scholarship.
If you are interested in helping Gun, you can find more information about him and his education below.
If you want to contact any of Nengs or Nons sponsors, you can contact Susanne Janson - susannejanson63@gmail.com - for contact information.
Neng works as a web designer in Bangkok
Neng or Fuse, that he now calls himself, was the first of the children to have the opportunity to study at university.
Neng came to Happy Child Home in 2006 when he was 11 and moved to us on his own initiative. Neng was an extremely intelligent and knowledgeable little boy. At school he was always on top and he showed an early interest in computers, which made him learn English on his own in order to be able to read English manuals.
In June 2012 - Neng's last year at high school, we started looking for sponsors for a scholarship for university studies and he started his application for a university education called Major of Multimedia Technology and Animation. In March 2013 he was accepted and we had found sponsors for his scholarship.
He made the absolute best of the opportunity he got and managed the confidence he gained from his sponsors with good cheer. Through a closed Facebook page, he could have direct contact with his sponsors so they could follow his four years at the university. He got extra good contact with one of his sponsors and it developed into a mentorship and ended with Neng being able to do his internship last term at a company in Sweden.
Today, Neng lives in Bangkok, he has found his dream job and has all his closest friends close to him. But he does not forget his family at Phuket, now he is doing everything he can to help his little siblings, as he wants them to have the same opportunity he got.
Many thanks to Albin Gustafsson, Anna Qvennerstedt, Claes Kjellström, Gustaf Sehlstedt, Hjalmar Delehag, LIna Elfstrand, Pia Leirup och Lasse & Helena Tenerz for making it possible for Neng to fulfil his dream.
Non works as an architect in Phuket
Non came to the orphanage as a seven-year-old in 2005, along with his little brother Nun who was 5 years old at the time. We can still see before them when these two little serious gentlemen with protruding ears came walking up the road hand in hand.
Non has been a quiet, kind, decent and helpful boy since he was little. He is not as quiet today but he is still just as kind, proper and helpful.
Since start, Non has been good at school and has always come home with the best grades in virtually all subjects. In high school, he took a Science-Math major. Non was the first to follow in Neng's footsteps and has studied Architecture Line at King Mongkut's University of Technology.
The quiet and slightly shy boy who left the Happy Child Home has transformed into a more confident and open young man who can now call himself an architect. He lives and works in Phuket.
Many thanks to Alba Care Foundation, Anna Qvennerstedt, Helena & Thomas Gjörling, Jane Oxaleryd och Kevin Sisung for making it possible for Non to fulfil his dream.
Nun works as Passenger Service Agent at Suvarnabhumi Airport
Nun is Non's little brother and has lived with us since 2005 when he came to us as a little shy 5-year-old boy with protruding ears.
If big brother Non was one of our calmer, wiser and very kind boys, his little brother was the exact opposite. He was a wonderful prankster who did not sit still for many seconds and with great faith in his own ability, which resulted in many scratches.
He has kept faith in himself, but today it matches his ability a little more than it did when he was little.
He has gone through primary school and high school with the highest grades and he has been involved in a project called "To be No 1" which high schools can choose to let talented students participate in.
Nun who literally wanted to try his wings has just finished studying Aviation Business Management at Mae Fah Luang University in Chiang Rai and he got his job directly.
Many thanks to the Alba Care Foundation, Peter F Yacavone Jr., Maria Norberg and Katarina Blomdahl for making it possible for Non to fulfill her dream.
Fon is studying to become a nurse
Fon came to us in 2013 as an 11-year-old together with her two younger siblings Gun and Bai-Tuy.
When Fon moved in with us, she had lost a year in school because she had had to take care of her two younger siblings alone.
Fon was and is a very intelligent young lady and she is also an extremely good friend. She has always had an easy time at school but at the same time placed great emphasis on her studies and she has helped and encouraged, not only her friends at Happy Child Home, but also other schoolmates. Fon is full of humor and you laugh a lot around her.
Fon’s last year at high school was quite messy due to Covid-19 - with a mix of online studies and studies in school, despite that she managed to keep her grades up and get into university to study to be a nurse.
Fon has just finished her studies and are now working as a Nurse at Vashira Hospital in Phuket.
Many thanks to Alba Care Foundation, City-Kliniken in Gothenburg, Maria Norberg, the Bjerre Family, Åsa Sundström and Maria Jönsson for making it possible for Fon to fulfill her dream.
Team is studying to be a chef
Team came to us in 2011 when she was 9 years old.
When she became part of our family, she had not had the opportunity to go to school.
She had difficulty both reading and writing Thai which made it difficult to keep up with any subject at all and all this made her have very poor self-confidence.
But then something happened - she learned to read and write, she could keep up with all the school subjects, she and Fon became best friends and she started to believe in herself.
It is not entirely surprising that she has chosen to study nutrition at Rajabhat University in Phuket to become a chef as she loves to cook.
Just like for Fon, Team's last year at high school was quite messy due to Covid-19 - with a mix of online studies and studies in school and despite that, Team also managed to keep her grades up and get into the education she wanted.
Team has just finished her studies and are now working in the kitchen of one of the bigger resorts in Phuket.
Many thanks to the Alba Care Foundation, Peter Yacavone, the Bjerre Family and Maria Norberg for making it possible for Team to fulfill her dream.
Dee studies Sport and Health Science
Dee came to stay with us when he was 7 years old, in 2013. He came to us with his little brother Lan. Thanks to his warm outgoing manner, he very quickly entered the family and made many friends both at Happy Child Home and at school.
Since he was little, Dee has been a very kind, helpful and intelligent boy who also loves small children. He is confident in himself and can therefore both make room for his friends and help our younger children. The fact that he is also a very good soccer player and good at all kinds of sports has made him a fantastic role model for our other boys.
Given that he loves sports and helping others, it is not surprising that he has chosen to study Sport & Health Science. Through his education, he will have the opportunity to work with people and help them to a healthy life through exercise.
Dee has started his third year of four - it will be exciting to follow him.
Many thanks to the Alba Care Foundation, Peter F Yacavone Jr, Kevin Sisung, Poker Wallenberg, Klara Sydhoff, Ingrid Leffler, Stefan Dahlbo, Mats Frisk and Maria Norberg for making it possible for Dee to fulfill his dream.
Fuse studies Sport and Health Science
Fuse came to us in 2016 when he was 11 years old, he came by himself without any siblings.
Fuse is and has always been Happy Child Home's charmer - with a big smile he gets through life. His smile, humor and his charm have saved him many times - it was even hard to get really angry with him when, as a small bus boy, he threw a firecracker in the toilet and it broke. The fact that he is also very honest and always stands up for his friends has made him make many friends both at Happy Child Home and at school.
Fuse may not have always been the one who focused the most on his studies, but made sure to sharpen himself up considerably in his last years at the corresponding high school - and succeeded. When he came to us, he got his first contact with football and sports through his friends and it developed into a strong interest, which explains why he too has chosen to study Sport and Health Science.
Fuse has started his third year of four - it will be exciting to follow him.
Many thanks to the Alba Care Foundation, Peter F Yacavone Jr, Kevin Sisung, Poker Wallenberg, Klara Sydhoff, Ingrid Leffler, Stefan Dahlbo, Mats Frisk and Maria Norberg for making it possible for Fuse to fulfill his dream.
Ploy studies Aerospace Engineering
Ploy came to us when she was 7 years old, in 2012.
When she came to us she was a very quiet, calm, intelligent and serious little lady who preferred to spend time with adults.
She is not as quiet and serious today but loves to talk - especially English - and has developed a great sense of humor.
However, she still has intelligence and composure, and that, together with great curiosity and hard work, meant that she finished her last year at the high school with the flag at the top - highest marks in all subjects.
So we were not surprised when she told us that she wanted to apply for Aerospace Engineering at university, nor when she told us that she had got in.
Ploy has started her second year at King Mongkut's University in Bangkok.
Aum studies Communication Arts
Aum moved in with us when she was 10 years old, 2015.
She is and has always been happy, funny and outgoing and can and dares to speak up for her cause.
She is also very artistic, both in words and pictures, so it is not surprising that she has applied for a creative education.
Aum applied for a degree called Bachelor of Communications Arts and entered on his work samples and his grades.
We are convinced that she has found the right one - creative communication is exactly what she should be doing.
Aum has started her second year at Mahasaraskhan University in Khon Khen.
Petch studies Sports Science and Health Promotion
Petch came to us when he was 6 years old in 2011.
He was a real little "swagger" with protruding ears and a lot of humor, he was bouncy in a charming and funny way.
He is still a "swagger", still has a lot of humor but has grown into a responsible young man and a loyal friend.
Just like many of our other guys, he is both very interested and good at sports, so we are not surprised that he chose to apply for an education in sports and health issues, nor that he got in.
He has started his second year of four.
Jack is studying the Science Program in Sports and Exercise
Jack became part of our family when he was 5 years old in 2011, when he moved in with his older brother Petch.
As a child, Jack was kind, caring, and full of clever humor.
He is still just as kind and caring, and he has kept his witty sense of humor.
Just like his older brother, he has a great interest in sports, especially football, so it didn’t surprise us that he chose to study the Bachelor of Science Program in Sports and Exercise Science at Walailak University.
Jack has just started his first year of four.
Lan is studying the Science Program in Sports and Exercise
Lan became part of our family when he was 6 years old in 2013, when he moved in with his older brother Dee.
As a child, Lan was a cheerful little clown with a big heart.
He may have outgrown the clownish part, but he still has his caring and big heart.
Just like his older brother, he has a great interest in sports, especially football, so it didn’t surprise us that he chose to study the Bachelor of Science Program in Sports and Exercise Science at Walailak University.
Lan has just started his first year of four.
